In a brand new alliance, world-renowned drama school, RADA (the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) and Stagecoach (UK’s largest network of part-time performing arts schools) have come together to devise a unique and original performing arts course offering part-time theatre training for ages 16+.
Vocational Training Preparation (VTP) offers you the opportunity to train in the performing arts to an exceptionally high standard of drama, dance and singing training, while continuing with your school studies or employment. This innovative part-time course will allow you to still consider your future options; be it vocational training in the performing arts, university or even a career away from the arts.
This part-time course will take place over two academic years consisting of three-hour weekly classes each weekend during term time. There will be an additional six intensive one-week workshops during the holidays. The sessions will include acting classes, musical theatre training, singing lessons, auditioning for drama school, teacher training, Shakespeare and auditioning for musical theatre.
If you are already doing drama in school, VTP offers the opportunity to enrich those skills under the guidance of specialist tutors at the top of their fields. For those not taking drama in schools this course will provide you will those essential tools to confidently approach applying to London drama schools or musical theatre academies across the country. The acting classes and musical theatre courses will also enable you to deal with the demands of acting school or other auditions.
